Meet the 2023 Keynote Speaker 

We are delighted to announce that author and “Roving Grammarian” Ellen Jovin will be the keynote speaker for the 2023 Long Island Library Conference.

Ellen is an internationally acclaimed grammar and language expert. She is the author of four books on language, including 2022’s Rebel with a Clause: Tales and Tips from a Roving Grammarian, which details her journey of visiting over 45 states with her pop-up grammar advice table.       

Ellen has a B.A. in German studies from Harvard University and an M.A. in comparative literature from UCLA.

Submit Your Program Proposals for the 2019 Conference

The next Long Island Library Conference will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019, at the Melville Marriot. The conference theme for this year is “Lighting the Way.”

At this time, we are asking the Library Associations and Divisions to submit their proposed program offerings.

To assist in your planning, please note that the tentative schedule for the day is as follows:

8:00am – 8:30am Registration
8:00am – 9:00am Exhibits
9:00am – 10:00am Program Session I
10:00am – 10:30am Exhibits
10:30am – 11:30am Program Session II
11:30am – 12:30pm Exhibits
12:30pm – 2:30pm Buffet Lunch & Keynote
2:30pm – 3:00pm Exhibits
3:00pm – 4:00pm Program Session III
